Amy Wright Glenn earned her MA in Religion and Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. She taught for eleven years in the Religion and Philosophy Department at The Lawrenceville School in New Jersey earning the Dunbar Abston Jr. Chair for Teaching Excellence.  She is a Kripalu Yoga teacher, Birthing Mama® Prenatal Yoga and Wellness Teacher Trainer, (CD)DONA birth doula, hospital chaplain, and founder of the Institute for the Study of Birth, Breath, and Death. Amy is a regular contributor to PhillyVoice and self-published her first book: Birth, Breath, and Death: Meditations on Motherhood, Chaplaincy, and Life as a Doula. Her second book, Holding Space: On Loving, Dying, and Letting Go, is published by Parallax Press.

In Love Child Birth we will cover what to expect in labor; natural and pharmacological pain management techniques; positions for labor at home, birth center and hospital; partner massage; breathing and relaxation techniques; how to use a birth ball; all about doulas; what to expect with epidurals, common birth complications, cesarian section surgery and recovery and general postpartum expectations, care and recovery.

In Love Child Baby we will cover newborn medical procedures; all about breastfeeding, bottle feeding and pumping; sleep schedules, how to change a diaper, swaddle and soothe a baby; all about postpartum doulas and baby nurses; baby massage and how to safely wear your baby.

The New York Paid Leave Coalition is the combined effort of 300 organizations from one end of NY state to the other representing gender equity, labor, health professionals, child care, senior care, faith, and military families. Together this network successfully waged a campaign to bring Paid Family Leave to New York.
